Core Beliefs:

  • Separate but equal is not equal. (Brown vs. Board of Education)
  • All students are entitled to a “sound basic education” ( Leandro Case )
  • All students should graduate from high school college or workforce ready.(NCDPI)

 

Strategic Intent:

To advocate for policies, programs, processes and the equitable distribution of human and material resources that accelerate the academic achievement results for African American students.

Organizational Structure

Board Members:  Responsibilities include but are not limited to setting the direction of the organization, setting core organizational governance policies and regulations, the hiring and firing of the executive director, and carrying out fiduciary responsibilities.

Executive Director:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to casting and carrying out the vision of the organization, leading and managing staff, including volunteers, and procuring human and material resources necessary for achieving the organization’s vision.

Ambassadors:
Corporate or individual members of the community who pledge to use their time, talents and resources to advance the academic achievement results for African American students.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to attending quarterly meetings, engaging in the education process at the local school level and advocating  for equity and excellence for African American students throughout all levels of public schooling as well as with city and county government entities. Corporate Ambassadors:
Churches, Faith Institutions, Corporations, NonProfits, PTA’s PTO’s, Booster Clubs, and any other education support organization who care about and support the advancement of academic achievement results of African American students. Become An Ambassador

Care Ambassadors:
Any member of the community who cares about and supports the advancement of academic achievement results of African American students. Become An Ambassador
